Infected Ideologies [a Poetic Portrait]

Monday, January 11th, 2010

the disease of extremism
is infectious;
whoever cannot think of
their child
growing up without it
is part of the phenomenon!

(the choice of the day).
fanaticism,–
with a powerful ideology
are seeds for suicide!
murder: giving
reasons to rage!…
ask:
leninist
che
hitler
bin laden
they will show you
to a noble
act of death!…
(that is what they say).
throw out:
poverty,
the disadvantaged
save the ideology,
that is the
infected,
the choice!…

Notes by Rosa Pealoza: the author has not written to be political, rather psychological as his mind worksboth in poetry and perhaps with all his writings. He writes as he sees things, be it close up, or from a distance. And he sees evidently terrorism more in an ideological frame than others do. Right or wrong, he looks at the character, the soul of the phenomenon. When he wrote the book, “Islam, In search of Satan’s Rib,” many thought of the book being anti this and that. When in essence, he was looking at the God’s you might say; again, not political, per se, rather, psychological, if not theological, and not trying to persuade anyone to any certain religion. He received a letter of thanks from Arial Sharon, and a picture signed by him, as a compliment. This poem seems to reflect some of that old message he tried to write in the book.

Ocean Heal Me

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Ocean Heal Me

Ocean heal my wounds
Let your waves curl and foam on my body
Wash away blood, heal scars

Ocean renew me with your power
As unceasingly you roll
Giving strength that’s been drained

Ocean keep me warm
Wrap me in your brine
Caress me with your tides

Ocean disperse my tears
As they flow in you
I cleanse my soul

Ocean let me grow in your depths
Color me vibrant blue, coral, green
Clear = revitalized

Ocean your spray anoints me
Cool and refreshed
My spiritual renewal

Ocean be my friend
Hold me flowing in your currents
Ever moving, ever changing

Ocean, heal me.

The Elegance of the Copper Fire Pit

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Firepits come in all designs and materials from iron to bricks to stones. One very elegant and good looking design is that of the copper fire pit. This type has become very popular among people of different social strata and places, very much like brink or stone outdoor fireplaces and warming devices that can be found on patio decks and more.

A copper fire pit may be installed indoors and may become the source of warmth inside the room. In a gathering like a party, be it small or big, its warmth draws the guests and creates a cozy and homey ambiance. This makes them more comfortable and evokes a certain level of intimacy.

This can also serve as a conversation piece because of its beautiful and classic design. Without any fire it can still catch the attention of the people because of its sheer elegance. It can be moved in a vantage area when not in use and can be grouped along with other decorative pieces for a more graceful flow of design since it will become a part of the set up and not just a stand alone décor.

This kind of fire pit is a perfect example of practicality and beauty put together. Very recently it has become a trend to have one installed in the home.
