Cover Up Well with Designer Clothes for Autumn 2009
Saturday, April 17th, 2010The London weather has cooled, the days are seeming not as long and another group of international catwalk shows has captured the world’s fashion cities, from glitzy New York to urban London. Yip, November is definitely here, and as usual, we have our fashion fingers on the proverbial pulse of designer fashion’s thumping heart. With our pick of London and global fashion designers spanning from the very most iconic fashion houses (Lanvin, Balenciaga) to the trendiest names (Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney) to the trend setting ones to keep an eye on (Christopher Kane, Erdem), it is no wonder the UK elite naturally state that they don’t buy designer clothes and bags anywhere other than Matches!
This Autumn Winter season catwalk fashion is dramatically colourful, and we are obsessed with some of autumn’s amazing statement-making trends. Christopher Kane’s fiercely cool animal printed t – shirts have been grabbed by the catwalk fashion pack, gracing front rows and the hottest fashion pages of websites alike. The animal patterned tees are the loving partner to another key trend at the moment – leggings – that’s right, this is the perfect time to flash those toned limbs, and Freda, Sykes and of course Les Chiffoniers have all manufactured some very sexy, incredible pairs. For the fashion seeker in you, there are thigh-high boots – these thigh high boots are the must have trend of the Autumn season; Stella McCartney’s version are black, gorgeous, and utterly drop dead jaw dropping. These bold McCartney boots look set to stay around, and we could not be happier; they are a marvellous way to give even the blandest outfit a twinkling dose of on-trend fashion fever.
Lastly, this is definitely the Autumn Winter season to put your shoulders forward! Bulky, padded shoulders are making an electrifying comeback – superbly wearable, this is an incredibly flattering trend this time around, and we are in love with Julien McDonald’s strikingly terrific sharp-shouldered dresses.
We say bring on the colder early mornings and rainy afternoons…the London weather may get bitter but with such tremendous items of clothing to wear this Autumn Winter season, we will ensure you look hotter than in August.
